Simon is trained in both CBT and PCT and uses them to help
and aid you to explore and move forward with your issues.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is now the preferred initial form of counselling recommended by both Doctors and Psychiatrists. CBT helps the client to understand and resolve their issues, enabling them to live a fuller life. It can be an effective treatment for mental health problems (with or without medication) depending in the diagnosis.
Person Centred Therapy (PCT) is another form of counselling. In this form of therapy the therapist's role is that of a facilitator and to provide a comfortable environment, rather than to drive
and direct the patient toward recovery.
Simon is a Accredited Member of The National Counselling Society and The National Hypnotherapy Society.
Therapy for adults is usally semi-structured and likely to involve some guidance, direction and information. It will usually explore elements of your life from the past, present and future in order to help you understand your issues. This is done at your own pace and always in a way which you will find as comfortable as Simon can make it.
Each session will start and finish in the same way. This gives clear routine and closure at the end of each visit, ensuring anything difficult can be held within the therapy session.

This ensures that the therapy will match the best technique,
from the best approach, with the issue that the you face.
He believes it is important to listen, respect and
understand the client, whatever the issue.
